Madioko are Isaac and Dany'o, two musicians deriving from Malka Family, a mythical band formed in 'Le Marais' in Paris in the beginning of the 90's. This funk combo packed Paris concert halls 'Bataclan' and 'Mutualité' and toured worldwide.
Ever since the band has lived : therefore, Isaac, the trombonist and Dany'o, the bassist, threw themselves into recording action. In their studio they realised 'Rhythm'n'Brousse', an album with Modibo Diabaté, Original Turtle Shell Band, Bibi Tanga, Nourou & Daffé.
In December 2000, the Africolor festival invited Isaac and Dany'o to Bamako to perform live with Issa Bagayogo. The idea to offer to musicians to record in their own countries came up. The studio 'Madioko mobile' departed on the road to capture the sound of artists in their backyard or bedrooms ! After a trip to the Réunion island (Indian Ocean) to record with Danyel Waro, they went to Mali to realize the album of Abdoulaye Diabaté.
Back in France, the pair met Rafika, a young female vocalist of Chaoui origin (Algeria) whose inspiration comes from the songs her mother used to sing. Together they recorded the album 'Rythm'n'bled', an interesting hybrid project which includes musicians from both north and south of the Sahara, featuring Moriba Koita (undisputed malian master) playing ngoni Rayo (Taudisymphony) on percussions , Axel (kalimba, steel drum, pygmy flute), Jay Murphy (Malka family) on keyboards.
They are joined on stage by a guitarist and some special guests.
